Helen Watson with Andy Fairweather Low - Hanging Out The Washing (In a Small Backyard) Original 1989 UK 7" Vinyl Single (Hit Or Miss, DB 9173, Picture Sleeve, Very Good)

A beautiful, lesser-seen collaboration highlighting late-80s British singer-songwriter craftsmanship. This is the original 1989 UK first pressing of Hanging Out The Washing (In a Small Backyard) by Helen Watson, featuring standout collaborative vocals from the legendary blues-rock musician Andy Fairweather Low. Released as a joint venture via the boutique label Hit or Miss Records and distributed by EMI Records, it carries the catalog matrix DB 9173.

The track is an incredibly soulful, Glyn Johns-produced acoustic pop arrangement taken directly from her second major studio album, The Weather Inside. Backed with the beautiful solo showcase track Ready To Fly on the B-side, this release comes complete with its original four-panel photo grid UK picture sleeve. It makes an excellent addition for collectors documenting UK folk, roots, and adult alternative pop history.
