How We Grade Our Vinyl
Every record in our shop is graded honestly using the industry-standard Goldmine grading scale. Here's what each grade means so you know exactly what you're getting.
Mint (M)
Absolutely perfect in every way. Never played, still in original packaging. Extremely rare.
Near Mint (NM / EX)
Nearly perfect. The record shows no signs of play and has been stored carefully. May have been played once or twice. No marks, scuffs, or sleeve wear.
Very Good Plus (VG+)
Shows some signs of play but will play perfectly with only the slightest background noise. A well-cared-for record that has been played regularly.
Very Good (VG)
Visible marks and light scratches. Will play through with some surface noise, particularly between tracks. Still enjoyable for most listeners.
Good (G)
Heavy wear throughout. Plays with significant noise. Suitable for display or as a placeholder copy.
Sleeve Condition
Where we list two grades (e.g. VG/VG), the first refers to the record and the second to the sleeve. We always describe any notable defects in the product listing itself.
